Hunter Legal LLP is delighted to welcome Angela Shi as our 2025/2026 Articling Student. Angela previously summered with the firm in 2024 and returns to us following the completion of her law degree at the University of Toronto.
Angela’s passion for effective and meaningful advocacy drives her interest in labour and employment law. During law school, she was a finalist in the competitive Callaghan Moot and participated in Trial Advocacy, where she gained valuable oral advocacy and examination experience.
Angela has contributed to public legal education through her volunteer work with the Asper Centre’s Consent & the Constitution working group, simplifying complex Supreme Court of Canada cases for broader audiences. In addition, Angela served as an editor for the University of Toronto Law Research Symposium, which showcases scholarship from law schools across Canada.
Angela brings a diverse academic background to her legal career. Before law school, she earned a Bachelor of Music and a Master’s in Cultural Studies from Queen’s University. Her research focused on the politics of care work and the gendered dimensions of time use, and she holds an ARCT in Piano Performance.
Fluent in English and Mandarin, Angela enjoys Pilates, long walks, jigsaw puzzles, and tackling the New York Times crossword in her free time.
We are delighted to welcome Angela back to the firm and look forward to working with her throughout her articling year.
